Getting started

Your own domain

Open your page on a domain you own, like me.yourname.com, with its own secure connection.

With Premium you can connect a domain you own. Visitors who open it see your page, the same page as rage.wtf/yourname.

Open domain settings

Connect a domain#

  1. In Settings, Own domain, type the domain and select Connect domain. It can be a subdomain like me.yourname.com or a whole domain like yourname.com.
  2. Where you manage your domain’s DNS (usually where you bought it), add the record the page shows:
TypeNameTarget
CNAMEthe part before your domain, like medomains.rage.wtf
  1. Wait. DNS changes usually take a few minutes, sometimes up to an hour. The settings page checks again every time you open it, or select Check now. Once it says Working, your domain opens your page. A domain that still isn’t working 14 days after you added it is removed, so you can connect it again once the DNS record is right.

We set up the secure connection (the padlock) for your domain by ourselves. You don’t need a certificate.

A whole domain#

For yourname.com itself, the CNAME goes on the root of the domain, often written as @. Not every DNS provider allows that. Cloudflare, Namecheap and Porkbun do. If yours doesn’t, use a subdomain like me.yourname.com instead.

If your domain uses Cloudflare#

When your domain’s DNS is on Cloudflare, the settings page also shows a TXT record. Add it next to the CNAME: it proves the domain is yours. Leave the CNAME’s proxy (the orange cloud) off.

What visitors see#

  • Your domain shows only your page. Any other address on it, like yourname.com/pricing, opens on rage.wtf.
  • Links, music, integrations and comments on your page work as normal.
  • Signing in and the dashboard always happen on rage.wtf.

Change or remove it#

To use a different domain, remove the one you have, then connect the new one. Removing it stops it from opening your page right away; you can delete the DNS record afterwards.

If your Premium ends#

Your domain sends visitors to rage.wtf/yourname instead. It works again as soon as you have Premium back. After 7 days without Premium, the domain is removed and you would need to connect it again.
