This is every link type you can pick when you add a link. For most types you type only your name, and the link opens the address shown. Pasting your full profile address works too, as long as it is on that site.
General rules#
- Don’t include spaces. A leading
@ or $ is removed for you (YouTube and Matrix keep their @). - A pasted address must be on the site you picked. A Twitter address in an Instagram link is refused.
- Any type set to Copy the text copies exactly what you typed instead of opening anything.
- Handles and addresses with a fixed shape are checked as you type: a Riot ID needs its
#tag, a friend code needs 12 numbers, and wallet addresses must look like that coin’s addresses. The field says what’s wrong. - Every type can use your own uploaded icon.

Types that need a number#
- Discord: to open your profile, enter your Discord user ID (only numbers). To share your username instead, choose Copy the text, which is the default for Discord.
- Roblox: profiles open by user ID (only numbers). You find it in your Roblox profile address, for example
roblox.com/users/123456789/profile. - bilibili, pixiv, Hack The Box and Strava also open by the number in your profile address.
- WhatsApp needs your phone number with its country code. Spaces, dashes, brackets and a leading
+ are removed for you, so +40 712 345 678 works.
Types that take a whole address#
Apple Music, Deezer, TIDAL, Beatport, Goodreads, Stripe and Streamlabs pages have no short form, so paste the full address of your page. It must be on that site.
Mastodon takes your handle, like @[email protected], or your full profile address on any server. Because it can point to any server, visitors confirm before leaving, as with Website links.
Website and Email#
- Website takes any
http or https address. If you leave out https://, it is added for you. - Email needs a full address like
[email protected] and can’t be switched to copy.
