  • Publishing your own font or a share image needs Premium. See trying Premium settings.
  • A free account can’t upload a bigger file to try it. Fonts are the exception: anyone can upload one up to 5 MB.
  • If a file is too big, the message tells you the Premium limit, for example “That avatar is over 3 MB. Pick a smaller file or get Premium for up to 10 MB.”
  • Videos must be MP4 or WebM that browsers can play. MOV files (from an iPhone or Mac) need converting to MP4 first.

These two limits are the same for everyone. Premium doesn’t raise them.

Size per image10 MB10 MB
Total storage50 MB10 GB
Largest image64 megapixels64 megapixels

Storage counts your images and their small preview thumbnails. The image host limits come from the Image Host plan, not from Premium. See uploading to the image host.

How files are checked#

Every file is checked by what is really inside it, not by its name. Renaming a .mov to .mp4, for example, doesn’t work. If the type is wrong, you get a message that lists the types that slot accepts.

How often you can upload#

WhereLimit
Profile editor and template picture uploads15 files every 10 minutes
Image host uploads (site and ShareX or API)60 files a minute

When you hit a limit, the message tells you how long to wait.

In the profile editor, files you upload but don’t end up using are cleaned up when you publish or discard. If you collect 40 unused uploads, the editor asks you to “Publish or discard your changes, then try again.”

All your profile editor uploads together can take up to 250 MB, or 2 GB with Premium. When they’re full, publish or discard your changes so the files your page no longer uses are deleted. Image host uploads have their own space (see Image host).
