Troubleshooting

Fixes for the most common problems on RAGE.WTF, from music that won't play and changes that don't show to missing emails and sign-in codes.

Find your problem below. If nothing here helps, contact support and tell us what you tried.

My changes don’t show on my page#

Changes in the profile editor are saved as a private draft. Visitors only see them after you publish.

  1. Open Profile in the dashboard.
  2. Look for the Unsaved changes bar at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Click Publish. You see “Published. Your changes are live.”

Then reload your page. More in the profile editor.

If publishing doesn’t work:

  • Some changes need Premium: you tried Premium settings in your preview. Click Change next to each one to switch it back, or get Premium. See trying Premium.
  • “Your profile was changed in another tab. Reload to get the latest version.”: you edited in two tabs or devices. Click Reload, then make your change again.
  • “Your changes could not be saved. Check your connection.”: check your internet connection and try again.

Visitors get “page not found”#

  • Private page is on. Only you can see your page. Turn it off in Profile, then Privacy, and click Publish. See privacy.
  • The address is wrong. Pages are at rage.wtf/yourname or one of your aliases. See your page address.
  • You changed your username. Share the new address, or use rage.wtf/id/ followed by your User ID, which always follows your current username.
  • If visitors instead see “This domain needs Premium, which its owner no longer has.”, the link uses a Premium domain and you don’t have Premium. Use rage.wtf or another free domain.

If visitors see a page saying yours is being worked on, Under construction is on in the same Privacy group.

Music doesn’t play#

  • Browsers only allow sound after the visitor clicks. That’s what your enter screen is for: the music starts once they click it (or press any key). Pages with music always show it; this is normal and can’t be skipped.
  • Check that you published after adding the song.
  • The song must be MP3, M4A, WAV, FLAC, OGG or AAC, up to 5 MB (10 MB with Premium). See music and upload limits.
  • Check the visitor’s device isn’t muted and the page’s player isn’t paused.

My background video doesn’t play or has no sound#

  • Videos must be MP4 or WebM, up to 25 MB (100 MB with Premium). MOV files from phones and Macs aren’t accepted: export or convert them to MP4 first.
  • Background videos loop. If you have no song, the video’s own sound plays once a visitor clicks your enter screen. If you have a song, the song plays and the video stays muted.
  • Phones can use their own background. Check both in desktop and phone.
  • Very large videos take longer to load on slow connections. A shorter or smaller video starts faster.

The audio visualizer doesn’t move#

  • The visualizer only shows on computers, not on phones.
  • It needs Premium.
  • It reacts to files you uploaded to RAGE.WTF. The sound keeps playing even if the visualizer can’t read it.

An upload fails#

The error message tells you what’s wrong. The most common ones:

  • “That … is over … MB.”: the file is too big for your plan. See upload limits.
  • “Use a PNG, JPG, GIF or WebP image” (or a similar list): the file type isn’t allowed for that spot.
  • “You’re doing that too often.”: wait the time shown and try again.

For the image host, see uploading images.

I don’t get the verification or password reset email#

  1. Wait a few minutes. Emails can take a minute to arrive.
  2. Check your spam or junk folder.
  3. Check you typed the right email address.
  4. Request a new email:
    • Verification: click Resend verification email. You can resend every 5 minutes.
    • Password reset: click Resend link (available after 60 seconds).

Links in these emails expire after 1 hour. If nothing arrives, email [email protected] from the same address. See signing in and password reset.

I don’t get the sign-in code#

If two-factor is on, signing in with your email and password asks for a 6-digit code we email you.

  • Check your spam folder, then click Send a new code. You can ask for a new code every 30 seconds. Only the newest code works.
  • “Invalid code” or “OTP has expired”: the code is wrong or older than 3 minutes. Send a new code and use the newest email.
  • “Too many attempts. Please request a new code.”: after 5 wrong tries, send a new code.
  • “Your sign-in expired.”: go back to Sign in and start again.
  • Tick Trust this device for 30 days so this browser doesn’t ask for a code every time.
  • A passkey signs you in without an email code.

I can’t sign in#

  • Check your email and password, and that Caps Lock is off.
  • Forgot your password? Click Forgot password? on the sign-in page. See password reset.
  • Signing in with Discord only works after you connected Discord in Settings. See connections.
  • If you see that your account is suspended, follow the steps on that page or contact support.

I lost access to my email#

Two-factor codes, password resets and email changes all go to your account email. If you can still sign in, change your email in Settings right away. The first confirmation link goes to your current address, so do it before you lose access to it.

If you can’t sign in and can’t get the email, email [email protected] with your username and anything that shows the account is yours. See contact support.
